Welcome to St Melyd Golf Club

Below a wooded hillside above the town of Prestatyn in Denbighshire, North Wales. St Melyd Golf Club is a mature parkland course with tree lined fairways and excellent greens. The Club is only some ten minutes from the A55 arterial expressway with Manchester and Liverpool within an hour's drive and Chester only thirty miles away.
If you wish to break up your journey to Snowdonia, why not stop and play at St Melyd Golf Course. Snowdonia and Anglesey are only an hour away. Zipworld Snowdonia, Bounce below Snowdonia and Surf Snowdonia are also within easy reach. Why not also visit Gwrych Castle to see where I'm a celebrity, Get me out of here was televised. It is only 20 minutes away towards Snowdonia.
Founded in 1922, St Melyd is a 9 hole course, but having 18 tees, it provides a different perspective for each hole as can be seen from our hole by hole guide. The Course provides a challenge for golfers of all abilities who can be assured it is always presented in the best possible condition.
The Club provides a warm welcome to members, holiday golfers and golfing societies alike in the spacious clubhouse with stunning views over the course towards distant Snowdonia. The well appointed club lounge, members lounge and excellent restaurant caters for all tastes from bar snacks to celebration banquets catering for up to 120 guests. Recently a snack bar and alcoholic bar have been erected in the grounds. Drinks can be consumed in purpose built sheds or pods nearby. The Club promotes visitors who cycle, walk or jog along the old railway line that passes through the course from Prestatyn to Dyserth.  Offa's Dyke ( Welsh: Clawdd Offa) is a large linear earthwork that roughly follows the border between England and Wales. The structure is named after Offa, the Anglo-Saxon king of Mercia from AD 757 until 796, who is traditionally believed to have ordered its construction passes the course on the hill above the course.

A Message From Our Club Captain

I am honoured to serve as Club Captain of St Melyd Golf Club for 2026. It is a privilege to represent a club that combines a rich golfing tradition with a strong sense of community, all set against the stunning backdrop of North Wales.

St Melyd is a course that offers both challenge and enjoyment, set in a location of outstanding natural beauty. Our clubhouse is a vibrant social hub, welcoming members, visitors, and the local community alike. Whether you're here to play, enjoy a delicious meal, or simply relax with friends, you’ll find a warm and inclusive atmosphere, complemented by excellent food, drinks, and hospitality.

Having been a proud member of St Melyd Golf Club for over 40 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on several committees throughout my time here. I’ve seen the dedication and hard work of our staff, volunteers, and officials. I am committed to supporting them and ensuring our facilities continue to meet the high standards our members expect and deserve.

I’m proud to announce that my chosen charity for the year is the Alzheimer’s Society. I look forward to organising fundraising events to support their vital work and raise awareness within our community.

As Captain, my aim is to foster a spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and enjoyment — both on and off the course. I look forward to a memorable year filled with great golf, meaningful connections, and shared success.

“I am writing to thank you for your excellent hospitality. The course was in excellent condition and provided the perfect away day venue. I hope you will pass my appreciation to your green keeping staff. The food was very well received by our members and I would like to thank your caterers on their behalf”.
